Raed Arafat sent a very important message to all Romanian citizens, one that all those who refuse to comply with the protection measures against the Coronavirus should know, but it is not about something 100% new, he made similar warnings in the past.
Raed Arafat talks about people's freedom not to comply with protective measures, but also about the impact that a decision of this kind has on the other people who risk being infected by not complying with these measures.
"The last one I liked very much, with one shouting in Piața Victoriei that freedom is above life. Yes, when it comes to your life and your liberty you can decide this and say that liberty is above life, but that does not qualify you to say that on my behalf or yours or anyone else's. Here we are talking about some basic rules, simple rules, if someone does not want to follow these rules and there are enough of them, the risk is that their impact will be on the lives of others.
I go back to the gentleman who was screaming that his freedom is above life. I don't think he will be able to say this in front of the families and patients who will end up in this situation, nor in front of the doctors who will face this situation (of choosing who to save - no). It is an extremely serious thing to manipulate and play with this situation."
