Warning of the Romanian Government cyber threats

The Romanian government, through the CERT-RO institution, has a warning for all citizens about cyber threats that affect the whole world, not just Romania, and below you have some tips to always be safe when you are connected to the Internet.

The Romanian government wants to help all Romanians to be as safe as possible when using the Internet, both at home and within the company where they work, and it would be good to respect what the authorities present below.

"Many of us have the false impression that we are quite skilled and have the necessary IT&C knowledge to avoid most types of online attacks.

However, any moment of inattention can turn us into victims of attackers, especially when dealing with attacks with a more advanced degree of complexity, such as #spoofing attacks.

Basically, when the identity of the sender is spoofed, the received message appears to come from a different person, or from a different area, than the real source.

This technique is often used in #phishing campaigns or spreading #malware because it gives the recipient the false impression that the message is actually coming from a trusted source, which can make them less vigilant.

We note that such malicious techniques have recently affected companies in Romania as well, so the CERT-RO team returns to the recommendations offered to regular users and network administrators alike, on how they can protect themselves in the event of such attacks."
