The Romanian Post was fined by the Romanian authorities for the way in which it carried out its activity recently, and below you have all the necessary details.

"As part of a control action carried out at the CNPR, we checked the company's compliance with the quality objectives for the year 2019, provided for in the legislation in the field of the universal postal service. Because CNPR did not meet the minimum quality requirements imposed by the regulations in force, not ensuring the timely delivery of internal priority mail items, we applied a fine in the total amount of 35.000 lei.

In its capacity as a universal service provider in the field of postal services in Romania designated by Decision of the President of ANCOM no. 1158/2013 as a universal service provider in the field of postal services in Romania, for the period January 1, 2014 - December 31, 2019, the Romanian National Post Company (CNPR) had the obligation to comply with a series of minimum quality requirements imposed by ANCOM for sending domestic correspondence of the fastest standard category in the scope of the universal service, including:

- the delivery of internal priority correspondence within two working days at most from the date of submission, in a percentage of at least 85%;

- the delivery of domestic priority correspondence within four working days at most from the date of submission, in a percentage of at least 97%."
