The Coronavirus pandemic remains a priority for the authorities in Romania, they announced just the other day that the number of new infections would stagnate, although we are still talking about very high figures announced by the authorities, this situation has been going on for several weeks already.
Yesterday there was also a record of deaths generated by infections with the new Coronavirus, the number of people in intensive care is still very high, which raises a very big problem for the medical system in Romania if the situation will remain unchanged.
Despite the fact that the Coronavirus pandemic is still a very serious problem for our country, the authorities want to reopen restaurants, at least in some areas of the country, and in September we will have both local elections and the resumption of school in all of Romania.
"Until today, August 26, on the territory of Romania, 81.646 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
36.286 patients were declared cured and 9.911 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.256 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. To date, 3.421 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
In the interval 25.08.2020 (10:00) - 26.08.2020 (10:00) 54 deaths (33 men and 21 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, were recorded , Bistrita-Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Covasna, Dolj, Galati, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Sălaj, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.
Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 12 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 21 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 15 deaths in the over 80 category.
52 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, one deceased patient had no comorbidities, and one deceased patient had no comorbidities reported to date.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.205. Of these, 502 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 1.705.368 tests have been processed. Of these, 25.320 were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.886 based on the case definition and the medical protocol, and 10.434 on request. Also, since the last information provided by GCS, the results of 434 tests processed prior to the last 24 hours and transmitted until August 26 have been reported.
On the territory of Romania, 11.245 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.522 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 31.364 people are in home quarantine, and 36 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1.021 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 599 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 702 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 218.050 lei.
Also, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police, a crime was detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures to verify the reported aspects."
