After a few days when things seemed to be going in the right direction regarding the Coronavirus pandemic in Romania, unfortunately yesterday we had a new large number of cases registered in our country, which of course generated a new wave of concern, especially since the authorities announced that things are going in the right direction.
The Coronavirus pandemic brings more and more deaths among infected people, but also increasing numbers of people hospitalized in intensive care, here being the big problem, because the number of beds is very limited, and this represents the biggest problem now.
On the other hand, the Romanian Government will decide today whether it will reopen restaurants, theaters, cinemas, all despite the fact that there are still many new cases of Coronavirus in our country, but if the experts decide that it is good for this to happen, then we will see that.
"Until today, August 27, on the territory of Romania, 83.150 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
36.677 patients were declared cured and 10.130 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.504 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 3.459 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 26.08.2020 (10:00) and 27.08.2020 (10:00) 38 deaths (22 men and 16 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Arad, Bacău, Bihor, were recorded , Bistrita-Năsăud, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 7 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 13 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 11 deaths in the over 80 category.
37 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had co-morbidities, and for one deceased patient no co-morbidities have been reported to date.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.288. Of these, 492 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at national level, 1.730.420 have been processed tests. Of these, 25.052 were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.151 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 10.901 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 11.351 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.654 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 30.770 people are in home quarantine, and 31 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1.014 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 572 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 782 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 252.651 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 3 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
