After a week in which we had many new cases of Coronavirus every day, today we expect a decrease based on the fact that it is the weekend and fewer tests are done in Romania, so we could hope that we will see under 1000 new confirmed cases by the authorities of our country.
Yesterday, a record number of cases was recorded for Bucharest, over 350, this in the context where we still have many Romanians hospitalized in intensive care, and the number of deaths continues to be high, but the authorities are happy that they have managed to stop the increase for the time being, in theoretical way.
The Coronavirus pandemic in Romania remains extremely serious, with many cases still being reported daily, which makes us wonder how long it will take until we see a substantial drop to the levels recorded at the beginning of June in our country.
"Until today, September 6, on the territory of Romania, 95.014 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
40.307 patients were declared cured and 12.228 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.150 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 3.893 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 05.09.2020 (10:00) and 06.09.2020 (10:00) 43 deaths (24 men and 19 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș were recorded , Bacau, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Buzău, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Iasi, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Timiș, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 3 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 14 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 9 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 13 deaths in the over 80 category.
40 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, one deceased patient had no comorbidities, and for two deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.287. Of these, 474 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 1.938.491 tests have been processed. Of these, 14.871 were performed in the last 24 hours, 9.021 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 5.850 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 9.675 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.922 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 35.130 people are in home quarantine, and 45 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 866 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 984 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 378.900 lei.
Also, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police, a crime was detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 of the Criminal Code."
