The COVID-19 pandemic is entering a new phase in Romania, that of a sustained increase due to a series of relaxations that were made by the authorities in our country, and which are beginning to be felt in the daily number of new infections that we see in Romania based on the reports made by the authorities.
The number of deaths, or of people hospitalized in intensive care, due to infection with COVID-19 continues to be high, but the authorities keep saying that things are under control, which theoretically should mean that this is definitely the reality, although we see non-stop increases in the number of new cases.
Local elections will take place next week, another extremely important point in 2020 in terms of the COVID-19 pandemic, this after school started this week, but the impact of the resumption of classes will only be felt in a week or so .
"Until today, September 20, on the territory of Romania, 112.781 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
89.771 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.231 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. To date, 4.435 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
In the interval 19.09.2020 (10:00) - 20.09.2020 (10:00) 33 deaths (20 men and 13 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Arad, Argeș, Bacău were recorded .
Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 50-59 years, 5 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 14 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 12 deaths in the category over 80 years.
32 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had co-morbidities, and for one deceased patient no co-morbidities have been reported to date.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.120. Of these, 470 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 2.223.462 tests have been processed. Of these, 13.391 were performed in the last 24 hours, 7.937 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 5.454 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 12.160 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 6.752 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 39.130 people are in home quarantine, and 7 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 802 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 949 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 285.355 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 2 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
