The Ministry of Health announced today a new record of patients hospitalized in intensive care, and this is of course only because of the very large number of cases that are registered every day in our country, but the situation is becoming more and more serious, especially as we approach the current capacity of this type of locations.
The Ministry of Health said, through Minister Nelu Tataru, that the number of intensive care beds will be expanded in the coming weeks by another 280 places, so by the end of the year there should be enough, at least theoretically, and this is because extremely many further cases are announced daily.
"In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13.667. Of these, 1.204 are hospitalized at ATI.
Up to this date, at the national level, 3.939.421 tests have been processed. Of these, 30.740 were performed in the last 24 hours, 19.069 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 11.671 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 46.501 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 12.688 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 79.304 people are in home quarantine, and 13 people are in institutionalized quarantine."
