The Romanian Police has a very serious warning for all Romanians in the country regarding firecrackers which are dangerous and can put our lives in danger, the authorities trying to convince Romanians to avoid them, as much as possible, at this time of the year.

The Romanian Police say that 7 tons of pyrotechnic objects of this kind were confiscated by agents from several counties in the country, but there are probably even more in the warehouses of those who sell such types of products in Bucharest at this time of the year.

"Police officers from weapons, explosives and dangerous substances seized more than 7.300 kilograms of firecrackers, fireworks batteries and rockets from the danger categories F2 and F3, all prohibited for possession and sale to the general public in Romania.

Under the coordination of the Directorate of Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances, the police officers from weapons, explosives and dangerous substances in Sălaj, Vaslui, Bihor and Vrancea are documenting the activity of two companies, which allegedly illegally sold pyrotechnic articles intended for the exclusive use of pyrotechnicians to the general public, through via the Internet, and would later send them to buyers using express courier services.

Between November 27 and December 9, 2020, the police officers of the Sălaj, Vaslui, Bihor and Vrancea county police inspectorates carried out investigations under the aspect of committing the crimes of "operations with pyrotechnic articles carried out without the right" and "the sale to the general public of pyrotechnic articles intended to be used by pyrotechnicians".

From the research it emerged that a commercial company would have illegally sold, through a website, pyrotechnic articles, from the danger categories F2 and F3, and would have sent, from the Czech Republic, parcels to recipients through transport companies and fast couriers .

In order to document the entire criminal activity, warrants were executed authorizing the detention, delivery and search of postal items sent by the commercial company in the Czech Republic.

Thus, the police officers from weapons, explosives and dangerous substances in Bihor discovered approximately 2.500 parcels, which contain approximately 7.000 kilograms of pyrotechnic articles, namely firecrackers, firework batteries and rockets from categories F2 and F3.
