Coronavirus Romania New Cases, Cures from January 10, 2021

The Corona virus pandemic is still causing very big problems in Romania, just like in many other areas around the world, the authorities from various countries are trying to limit the number of new cases by whatever methods they can, although the situation is getting more serious in many areas .

In Romania, there continue to be many deaths every day, but also many people hospitalized in intensive care, despite the fact that the daily number of cases is decreasing, which comes as extremely good news for the medical system in our country.

The vaccination process against the Coronavirus continues in Romania at the moment, over 100.000 Romanians have been vaccinated so far, the numbers are constantly increasing as people are interested in protecting themselves more effectively against the virus.

"Until today, January 10, on the territory of Romania, 671.284 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

598.610 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3.082 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 530 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 16.654 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 09.01.2021 (10:00) – 10.01.2021 (10:00) 62 deaths (37 men and 25 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș were reported , Bacau, Bihor, Botoșani, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Sălaj, Sibiu, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 7 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 19 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 21 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 11 deaths in the over 80 age category.

59 of the registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, and 3 deceased patients had no comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8.744. Of these, 1.065 are hospitalized at ATI.

Up to this date, at the national level, 5.017.624 tests have been processed. Of these, 15.797 were performed in the last 24 hours, 8.765 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 7.032 on request.

On the territory of Romania, 31.382 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 8.637 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 48.398 people are in home quarantine, and 72 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 1.917 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on January 9, 7.034 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 996.375 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a criminal file was drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 7.145 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1.939 in Italy, 1.349 in Spain, 173 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3.085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 22 in Switzerland , 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in the Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 10 in Ireland and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican City, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore, Slovenia and the Russian Federation. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 132 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece, one in Iran and one in Ireland have died."
