Ministry of Health: Consent Form for Student Testing

Ministry of Health student consent form

The Ministry of Education published today the consent form for testing Romanian students in case they have detected symptoms of the Coronavirus at school, or have been in contact with another person who has been found to be infected.

"In the case of students who present specific symptoms of COVID-19 during class hours, the Ministry of Health recommends testing with rapid antigen tests in school medical offices, when this is possible.
Testing is essential for the safe opening of schools, for the health of children and teachers, and for the good of the entire community.
In order for the testing to be possible, it is necessary for the parents to express their consent in writing, which can be downloaded here:
We recommend that parents bring the printed and signed consent form from the first day of school, so that students can be tested immediately when needed.
Relevant information from the joint order of the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Health:
✔ In the event that students present a fever or other symptoms specific to SARS-CoV-2 infection during class, the isolation protocol is applied. If there is an informed and signed consent of the parent/legal guardian regarding the agreement to collect samples of nasopharyngeal exudate in order to test symptomatic students, they will be able to be tested, in a first phase, with rapid antigen tests, in within medical offices. The student who has reached the age of 18 will sign the personal consent. All rapid tests performed in the school medical office at the level of the educational unit will be reported to the DSP/DSPMB within a maximum of 24 hours. If the parent/legal guardian does not express his consent for the test, in the case of the existence of specific symptoms, as well as in the case that there is no medical office in the school unit, he will contact the family doctor in order to determine the next steps.
✔ Testing with rapid antigen tests is also recommended:
1) teaching staff and other employees of the school unit, symptomatic, whose illness symptoms start during class hours
2) colleagues of confirmed cases, both students (classmates) and teaching staff/auxiliary staff from the educational unit (including asymptomatic ones), immediately after the confirmation of the first case."
