Coronavirus Romania: February 20, 2021, New Cases Announced

Coronavirus Romania February 20 New Cases

The February 20, 2021 report on the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic shows us again that the plateau situation recorded in Romania is still maintained, which is very important for the future positive evolution of our country.

The numbers of people admitted to ATI, but also of deaths, continue to be reduced during this period, as well as the occupancy level of hospital beds, and this is also because the number of new cases in recent weeks has been constantly reduced .

The vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus is still at a plateau, and this is because the AstraZeneca vaccine tranches that arrived in Romania allowed the increase in the number of daily immunizations for Romanians throughout the country.

"Until today, February 20, on the territory of Romania, 777.276 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

722.484 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 2.721 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. *Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
