Coronavirus Romania Increase in Cases March 5

Unfortunately, the coronavirus is registering new increases in daily cases on March 5 as well, and this is because for more than a week we have seen an increasing trend of infections, with differences of approximately 20% more new cases compared to the previous week .

And in the case of patients hospitalized in intensive care, there are increases in the number of cases, as well as the situation of deaths, the Coronavirus pandemic returning in force in Romania after the reopening of schools, with more and more areas entering the red scenarios.

Fortunately, the vaccination campaign is going much better, with a new record of vaccinations recorded yesterday in Romania, and we hope that every day will bring a positive record so that we can return to normality as quickly as possible throughout the country.

"Until today, March 4, on the territory of Romania, 816.589 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

749.673 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 4.271 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 832 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 20.684 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 03.03.2021 (10:00) - 04.03.2021 (10:00) 98 deaths (58 men and 40 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Argeș, Arad, were reported . Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 20-29 years, 2 deaths in the age category 30-39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 12 deaths in the age category 50-59 years , 22 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 33 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 22 deaths in the category over 80 years.

94 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9.035. Of these, 1.070 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 6.105.686 RT-PCR tests and 334.027 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 26.410 RT-PCR tests were performed (16.885 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9.525 on request) and 9.539 rapid antigen tests.

On the territory of Romania, 44.712 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 13.011 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 50.327 people are in home quarantine, and 120 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 3.667 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 589 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on March 3, 5.389 contraventional sanctions, worth 980.985 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a criminal file was drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
