The Coronavirus pandemic continues at an alarming rate in Romania, and this unfortunately continues to show us how serious the situation is in our country, a new large number of cases being officially announced by the authorities for all Romanians.

Unfortunately, the number of people hospitalized in intensive care is still extremely high, and this is a huge problem that puts a lot of pressure on the medical system, hence the very high number of deaths in recent weeks.

The vaccination campaign continues at about the same pace, with almost 60.000 people being vaccinated every day by the authorities, and this is where the return to normality will come, vaccinating as many people as possible being the only solution to get rid of the restrictions.

"Until today, April 3, on the territory of Romania, 970.224 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. 867.663 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 5.498 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 1.364 people were reconfirmed positive.

Until today, 23.973 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 02.04.2021/10/00 (03.04.2021:10) - 00/154/79 (75:XNUMX) XNUMX deaths (XNUMX men and XNUMX women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș were reported , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Calarasi, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova , Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 14 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 39 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 60 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 37 deaths in the over 80 age category.

148 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 2 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13.409. Of these, 1.448 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 6.800.572 RT-PCR tests and 636.855 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 26.709 RT-PCR tests were performed (14.218 based on case definition and medical protocol and 12.491 on request) and 10.634 rapid antigen tests.

On the territory of Romania, 67.560 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 16.271 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 48.327 people are in home quarantine, and 95 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 4.828 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 567 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on April 2, 6.259 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 1.355.210 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 12 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
