Android has Android Runtime digitally signed by Google, without phone manufacturers being able to modify it, and starting with version 12 it can be updated through Project Mainline. This means that Google will be able to update the Android Runtime through the Google Play Store, without the producers having to do this, and thus many Android operating problems can be solved much faster and easier for all users.
Android can now control the Android Runtime much better, and it can solve faster including any kind of vulnerabilities that are discovered, even if it is about phones from different manufacturers. Project Mainline is implemented in Android starting with version 10, but this change for Android Runtime comes only now for mobile devices, so we still have to wait for what it will bring us, the changes being major.
