Romania: Dramatic Records and Restrictions for Romanians

Romania Dramatic Records Romani Restrictions

In October, Romania records dramatic records for infections and deaths in full wave 4 of infections with the Coronavirus, records that unfortunately come after a low rate of vaccinations at the national level, but also a very aggressive spread of the Delta variant, something that was still expected.

Romania has reached over 15.000 new daily cases of infection, which represents a 50% increase compared to the record so far in the pandemic, but the authorities expect us to reach 20.000 new daily cases during the next week, and maybe even to 30.000 at the end of October.

Romania still registers dramatic records when it comes to deaths, and this is because yesterday we had over 330 deaths, and today over 280, and this is in total contrast to the summer, when there were dozens of daily cases and less than 10 deaths, the increase being one which seems unreal, but which has been seen in other countries.

Romania is starting to impose more and more serious restrictions on Romanians who are not vaccinated or cured in the last 6 months, the most recent forbidding them to go to restaurants in localities with incidence rates over 6/100, but it is not excluded that others will appear in the not too distant future.

Romania still registers a record in terms of the average national incidence rate, reaching 6.21/1000 inhabitants, a threshold from which restrictions are imposed in any locality in the country, but at the national level for the time being we will not see anything similar, or any lockdown.
