Romanian Police Measures Taken to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

The Romanian Police speaks below about the measures that were taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Romania, they being extremely important for controlling the reduction in the number of new cases registered in our country now.

"Today, October 29, at the headquarters of the MAI, the spokesperson of the ministry, chief police commissioner Monica Dajbog, held a press statement with the theme of presenting the activities carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs this week, to prevent the spread of the SARS-virus CoV-2.

Below is the full statement:

"With the entry into force of the new measures to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with representatives of other authorities, intensified the actions carried out throughout the country, in crowded places, in markets, shopping centers, in public means of transport, both surface and underground, to inform citizens and economic operators about the new regulations and to explain to them the need to comply with all health protection rules.

Since the beginning of this week, police and gendarmes have carried out more than 15.700 preventive actions throughout the country to raise awareness among citizens and economic operators about the new measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Also, nearly 4.500 actions were carried out to verify compliance with the new regulations. Approximately 14.000 contraventional sanctions were applied in the amount of 2,7 million lei.

The most sanctions were applied for not wearing a protective mask, respectively 12.286, worth 1,8 million lei.

At the same time, more than 1.700 sanctions were applied for non-compliance with travel bans, 130 sanctions for non-compliance with quarantine or isolation measures, 92 sanctions for participating in activities in public, private or closed spaces for which bans or restrictions were imposed.

Approximately 100 sanctions were applied to economic operators who did not comply with the measures ordered to prevent the spread of the virus.

Following the actions to limit the diseases with COVID-19, this week, the police have drawn up 22 criminal files, of which 15 for thwarting the fight against diseases.

I would like to specify that, at the level of the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 335 criminal files are being processed regarding possible fraud registered in the process of issuing vaccination certificates and certificates, in which more than 800 people are being investigated. If they are found guilty, they risk imprisonment!

I mention that for the verification of digital certificates, the MAI structures already have over 6.700 electronic devices.

This week, 0800.800.165 calls were received to the free telephone line - 67 where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

We remind you that this TELVERDE is operationalized at the level of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, calls being distributed to territorial units for verification and taking measures, where appropriate.

The MAI structures will continue the actions to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with the focus being on verifying compliance with the measures that came into force this week.

Allow me to remind you that by the Government Decision on the extension of the state of alert, in all localities, the movement of people outside the home between 22,00:5,00 p.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. was prohibited, with some exceptions, such as professional trips, for medical assistance that cannot be postponed or carried out remotely, for the purchase of medicines or for other justified trips, such as for the care of the child, the elderly, sick or disabled persons or in the case of a death in the family.

People who travel at night for professional purposes are obliged to present, at the request of the staff of the competent authorities, their work ID card or the certificate issued by the employer or a self-responsibility declaration, completed in advance. People, who travel in personal interest, must present a declaration on their own responsibility, filled in beforehand.

The prohibition of movement during the night does not apply to people who are vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and for whom 10 days have passed since the completion of the complete vaccination scheme or it is between the 15th day and the 180th the day after the confirmation of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

They must prove the fulfillment of one of the two conditions by means of the vaccination certificate, on paper or in electronic format, or by means of the digital certificate of the European Union regarding COVID-19.

Activity in bars, clubs and discotheques and the organization of private events – weddings, baptisms, festive meals and the like are prohibited.

Outdoor recreational and sports activities are allowed with the participation of no more than 10 people who do not live together, if they are vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, respectively they are between the 15th day and the 180th the day after the confirmation of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus

The activity of restaurants and cafes, inside the buildings, as well as on the terraces, is allowed up to 50% of the maximum capacity of the space in the time interval 5,00:21,00—XNUMX:XNUMX.

Access to customers in restaurants, cafes and terraces, as well as in shopping centers and parks is allowed only for those who are vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and for whom 10 days have passed since the completion of the complete vaccination scheme, respectively those who is in the period between the 15th day and the 180th day after confirmation of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

An exception is made for people who present themselves at vaccination centers in order to administer a dose of vaccine, provided that dedicated and controlled lanes are established for entry, movement and exit from the centers and commercial parks.

Access to community public services, which operate in shopping centers and parks, is also allowed for people with a negative result of a PCR test, not older than 72 hours, or a certified negative result of a rapid antigen test for SARS virus infection -CoV-2 no older than 48 hours and who provide proof of travel to a community public service by presenting a supporting document in written or electronic format.

In the premises of public institutions, autonomous governments and economic operators with public capital, access is allowed to people who provide proof of vaccination against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and for whom 10 days have passed since the completion of the complete vaccination scheme or who present a negative result of a PCR test not older than 72 hours or the certified negative result of a rapid antigen test for infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus not older than 48 hours, or is between the 15th day and the 180th day after confirmation of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

These conditions do not apply to employees or participants in judicial, disciplinary, contraventional, administrative-jurisdictional and administrative procedures for reasons of order and public safety.

The exception is also people who require medical services and social benefits, as well as people who present themselves at vaccination centers in order to administer a dose of vaccine.

Given that vaccination remains the best solution to prevent serious illness with COVID-19, contributing significantly to reducing the risk of hospitalization and death, this weekend to support citizens who want to get vaccinated , the working hours will be extended in eight vaccination centers in the Capital. Such actions to facilitate vaccination against COVID-19 will also be organized at the national level. More details can be found on the National Information Platform on vaccination against COVID-19 and on the official Facebook page.

The MAI structures will provide support for the good organization of these events and for ensuring the climate of public safety in the vaccination process. In addition, MAI employees participate as volunteers, supporting the staff in these centers and providing guidance to the beneficiaries, in the triage areas and in those assigned to post-vaccination monitoring.

Also, on a voluntary basis, almost 3.000 gendarmes, policemen, firefighters, border policemen and students from the first and second year of the Police Academy participated, this month, in plasma donation actions, which can be life-saving for patients with COVID-19, or at blood donation drives in the city of Bucharest and in all counties, considering that the number of donors at the national level has decreased alarmingly since the beginning of the pandemic.

We make a new call for responsibility on the part of citizens and economic operators because only through a joint effort will we be able to limit the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The MAI structures remain responsible for preventing activities that may contribute to the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19. The main goal of our colleagues is to protect the population and not to impose fines.''
