Minister of Defense: LAST TIME, Official Announcements for Romanians made in Full War in Ukraine

Minister of Defense LAST TIME Official Announcements Romanians Full of War Ukraine

The Minister of Defense is sending Romanians from all over the country two important official announcements in the midst of war in Ukraine, and this is because he brings to the immediate attention of all people the fact that he had several meetings in the course of the past days, the first being with the Italian ambassador in Bucharest, with him discussing the security situation in the region.

The Minister of Defense talked about the constant cooperation that Romania has with Italy in the field of defense, but separately from that he also talks about a conference that took place at UNA Caro I in Bucharest, saying that women will continue to benefit from equal opportunities when it's about taking up positions in the Romanian Army.

"Today we received, at the MApN headquarters, the visit of the Italian ambassador to Bucharest, Alfredo Maria Durante Mangoni. The agenda of the meeting focused on topics related to cooperation within NATO, with an emphasis on allied decisions from the Madrid Summit, as well as on the evolution of the regional security situation, the support given to Ukraine and aspects of cooperation between Romania and Italy.

I conveyed the appreciation of the Romanian side for Italy's commitment in the actions to strengthen the allied deterrence and defense posture on the eastern flank and in the Black Sea region, especially the constant participation in the enhanced air police mission in Romania. The meeting was also the occasion for a review of the state of bilateral relations, the consistency of cooperation at the level of all categories of the armed forces being pointed out. Last but not least, I reiterated the availability of expanding and strengthening cooperation in the field of defense by including new areas of collaboration and organizing activities for the benefit of both parties.

Today I participated in the conference with the theme "Implementation of the Women, peace and security Agenda - progress and ways of cooperation", which took place at the headquarters of the "Carol I" National Defense University, in Bucharest. The Ministry of National Defense supports and promotes free and equal access to all hierarchical levels, regardless of gender, for both civilians and military, provided that performance and professionalism criteria are met.

I mention that there is currently no limitation regarding the participation and selection of women for permanent positions within the Romanian military representations in addition to international organizations or for command or execution positions in the structures deployed outside the country. Therefore, within the military detachments that have been deployed in recent years on missions in the theaters of operations, in the most dangerous areas of the world, female military personnel, with various specializations, including in command positions, acted.

I expressed my conviction that the equal access of women within the leadership structures of the Ministry of National Defense will certainly contribute to the achievement of both the national desired and the international commitment and that in our society, gender equality is a driving force and not a cost."
