BCR Romania, one of the largest banks in all of Romania with a large number of clients throughout the country, is at the center of a warning that clients in the country must know about because we are talking about a phishing campaign that is designed to steal from them personal data, but also money from bank accounts.
BCR Romania has the clients targeted by this phishing campaign with an email telling them that their cards will be blocked if they do not activate a so-called "security system" immediately, and I have seen exactly the same message in similar campaigns carried out against ING Bank or Raiffeisen Bank clients in recent days.
BCR Romania has repeatedly warned its clients about these types of campaigns, especially those that charge to scare them into doing certain actions, such as accessing an unknown website in which to enter their personal data, and this because that data goes directly to those who are behind the fraud.
BCR Romania does not notify its clients in such a way when there is a problem with a service they benefit from, whether it is a bank card or the account for which the respective card was issued, so it is important to be extremely vigilant when we receive emails of this kind, and they seem to come from the bank.
BCR Romania usually tries to help Romanian clients to protect their accounts, if they have given their data in a phishing campaign, or to recover the possible sums of stolen money, but it is not always possible to do this , so we must be extremely careful not to become victims.
