Orange code weather warnings of ANM, the National Meteorological Administration, were officially issued for Romania on January 27, 2023, and this is because they bring to our attention a series of high-intensity weather phenomena that will take place in Romania.
ANM talks below about an orange code of heavy snow and blizzard, with wind that can reach up to 65 km/h, but also about a yellow code of rain in significant amounts of up to 40l/mXNUMX, snow, blizzard, but intensification of the wind, in the regions of the map below.

Validity period: January 27, 10 a.m. – January 29, 10 p.m.
Targeted phenomena: significant amounts of precipitation in the form of rain and snow, blizzard and wind intensifications.
Affected areas: as per text and map.
In Dobrogea, Muntenia, the Southern Carpathians and locally in Moldova, the south-east of Transylvania and in the Eastern Carpathians, there will be quantitatively significant precipitation and in general 25...40 l/mXNUMX will accumulate.
In the south-east of Transylvania it will snow, and in the low relief areas of Muntenia and Moldova, at first there will be precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and rain, then gradually snow will prevail and a layer of snow will be deposited. In Dobrogea during Friday there will be mostly rain, changing from Friday night to Saturday in sleet and snow. In these areas, locally and temporarily, there will also be wind intensifications, with speeds generally of 45...55 km/h, blowing the snow.
In the Southern Carpathians and locally in the Eastern Carpathians, it will continue to snow, a consistent layer of snow will be deposited, and there will be intervals with blizzards (gusts over 50...70 km/h) and low visibility.
Note: locally and temporarily there will still be snow in Oltenia and the rest of Transylvania.
