The Minister of Education Announces Important Measure for Romanians Children

The Minister of Education announces to Romanians from all over the country about a very important measure that they can apply for children, and this because it brings to the immediate attention of all people the fact that if they decide to read aloud to children, they can help them learn more easy to talk, and that's all.

The Minister of Education explains below why it is important for Romanians to do this for their children, but he also talks about the NGOs that want to get involved to help the authorities debureaucratize and digitize the education system, and in general the administration of Romania.

"Today, February 1, 2023, on International Read Aloud Day, we invite you to continue or initiate a routine of reading together! To raise future generations of readers it is important to join forces: parents, grandparents, teachers, librarians and more. By reading to little ones, we send them the message that we are with them until they can explore the world themselves through written words.

We encourage you to read to children from a young age. If they are old enough to be spoken to, they are old enough to be read to. Choose a book, sit close to them and enjoy a story together, repeat daily! Because we want to enjoy it with you, we invite you to share with us, in the comments, which book you chose to read and why you made this choice!

Every book title can be a good reading idea for someone else! At the same time, dear teachers, we remind you that, along with various types of teaching materials, books are eligible inventory items to be purchased in classrooms, in the call for equipping educational units/related units with furniture, teaching materials and digital equipment (PNRR).

Eligible candidates are representatives of non-governmental organizations, who must meet the following skills and minimum criteria: demonstrate significant experience in the implementation of actions in the field selected when submitting the application.

To demonstrate the ability to collect and represent the interests of the civil society community in the context of collaboration with public administration authorities or in other multi-stakeholder forums; to demonstrate experience in collaboration with public administration authorities; demonstrate recognition as a relevant actor within civil society at national or local level; not to practice or promote hate speech."
