Today, Volodymyr Zelensky made an extremely important announcement for the future of Ukraine, and this is because he announced that there is a possibility that in the course of 2023 the negotiations for his country's accession to the European Union will be initiated.
Volodymyr Zelensky says that Ukraine is preparing for a better integration into the internal market of the European Union, its economy will greatly benefit from this, but it remains to be seen when this will happen.
"This morning in Ukraine, like many others, started with an air raid alert. This day, like many others, was spent in extremely brutal fighting at the front. But still, tonight we can say that Ukraine is moving towards its goal.
We preserved the freedom of Ukraine. We protect the values of Ukraine. And we will achieve the goals of our state. the European objectives of our state.
Today, there was a lot of confidence in this during the summit. We have spoken and we are already speaking as members of the European community. And we're working to fix that de jure.
There is an understanding that it is possible to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union this year. The partners also understand that this year, as last year, we must continuously strengthen our country's defense support and pressure on Russia, especially sanctions pressure.
We are preparing for better integration of Ukraine into the EU internal market – it means more income for Ukrainian companies, more production and jobs in our country and more income for state and local budgets.
