Google Hangouts competes with iMessage, it will be available on the iOS platform starting today

After the release Google Play game servicesThose from Google throw a new arrow towards those from Apple by announcing the launch Google Hangouts, a similar messaging system iMessageof the I told you a few months ago that Google is working on the development of this system, which was then known as Babel, but in the end he will bear the name Hangouts and will allow Google account holders to chat with any of their friends, regardless of which Google messaging account they have.

The new system will also be available on desktops, so you will be able to chat with anyone, at any time, from any terminal you want, but more details are not known. Google Hangouts would be available in the App Store as a dedicated application, and as soon as it is launched I will let you know.

UPDATED: Through this article you can download the application and find out more details about it.

  1. I don't understand these associations you make, Siri/GN and now iMessage/Hangouts. They have different functionalities and in this case they have only 1-2 similarities, otherwise Hangouts is a competitor to Yahoo Messenger and Skype. Apple currently does not have a unified service but 3 different services: iMessage, FaceTime and Shared Photo Stream.

  2. Yes, it was launched about 2 hours ago already, in the AppStore...
    Downloaded, seen, deleted 🙂
    It doesn't compare to iMessage.

  3. Competitors with Skype and FaceTime (my opinion). You can make a video call even if you don't have IOS (FaceTime -1 point) and you have available hangouts with up to 10 friends at the same time, i.e. you can make a video call with several friends at the same time (skype-1 point, on skype for this function as if you have to pay).
I for one am satisfied, we are waiting for applications on IOS as well

  4. so I installed it on my iPhone, it says to log in with my gmail address. I log in, and then to go, it asks for access to google+. I don't have a google+ account and I won't register for this application 🙂

  5. I think that many of you have no idea what Google+ is. Make an account, add to your "circle", try it and then comment. So, from what I hear, you are all smart...!
