Display of the Year sau ecranului anului este un premiu acordat anual de catre The Society for Information Display. Anul acesta a fost randul terminalului iPhone 4 si al tabletei iPad sa castige acest premiu multumita tehnologiei IPS folosita in iPad si a Retina Display din iPhone 4. Tehnologia IPS(In-Plane Switching) folosita atat in iPad cat si iPhone 4 ofera ecranului un unghi de vizibilitate mai mare, dar si un nivel de luminozitate sport fata de alte terminale. Retina Display a stabilit noi standarde in ceea ce priveste calitatea imaginii si a consumului de energie si producatorii de ecrane deja incearca sa il depaseasca, ca si performante cu noile produse.

iPhone 4 are un ecran intr-adevar remarcabil si nici iPad 2 nu e prea departe desi e nevoie de un numar mai mare de pixeli per inch, din punctul meu de vedere. Iata ca munca depusa de cei de la Apple este laudata din nou si sunt sigur ca pe viitor iDevice-urile vor mai castiga alte premii de acest gen.
