The new Google Maps application in action

Google-Maps-Navigation1 After the announcement with sirens and trumpets by Google of a free application called Google Maps Navigation for most existing mobile phones on the market, the IT world was a bit in the air with assumptions and questions about the new application. Recently, Google released an initial version of the application, but only for devices running the Android operating system, and here is a demonstration of the application in action on a Motorola Droid. The application is quite simple and easy to use, it only works with an internet connection (which is a big minus for our country due to the 2 bani offers of the mobile operators) and is based on the data provided by Google Maps servers (which again it's a big minus due to the fact that Google barely found out about the existence of Romania and is only now slowly updating the maps). Turn-by-turn navigation works very well, there are practically no disadvantages compared to the rest of the iPhone navigation applications, and the voice guidance system again has no disadvantages compared to what exists on the market. One gratifying thing is that when you are called, the application can be reopened and you can continue browsing without problems, some know that iGo has a problem from this point of view, if you have the misfortune of being called when the application is open, the chances of to restart the application are very small, but the system in the Google application is based on the multitasking implemented in the Android OS, a system that does not exist in the official iPhone.

I think the application is quite good and considering that it will be FREE, the disadvantages that the port of the application on the iPhone might have will probably be overlooked considering that the rest of the applications for the iPhone have a starting price of 100 euros .

And the video with the application in action:
