The launch of the application in the AppStore was announced a few days ago Showtime which brings video recording for iPhone 2G/3G owners. For those who own an iPhone 2G it is possible that the name Showtime to sound quite familiar because 2 years ago this application was the first to bring the possibility of recording videos with the phone's camera, but only for those who jailbroken. The application was so popular that it was downloaded more than 1 million times until it was removed from the market with the appearance of the AppStore.
From the point of view of video recording, the application is capable of filming with 6 frames per second at a resolution of 320 x 240, being as capable as iVidCam but much more iVideoCamera which is limited to only 3 frames per second, a resolution of 160×213 and 1 minute of recording.
Regarding the audio quality, the application records at 16 bits with 22.05kHz sample rate, which is quite good for an official application.
