These days, the QuakeCon 2010 conference is taking place in the USA, where some of the biggest game companies in the world are participating. Among them is id Software, the company that brought the game Quake to the market, and in the video clip above you have the president of id Software, John Carmack, demonstrating how well their new game, Rage, runs on an iPhone 4 terminal I don't know what hardware requirements this new game has, but to have a framerate of 60fps in a new game you need a powerful graphics card/processor, and the iPhone 4 copes brilliantly with this challenge.

Carmack's demonstration, using the id Tech 5 engine, could possibly be the most impressive tech we've seen on the iPhone. Running on the iPhone 4 but easily running on the 3GS, the visuals indeed rivaled anything from the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox, and might even be able to give a few current-gen titles a run for their money.

It seems that Rage would also run without problems on an iPhone 3GS, but I don't know what quality the graphics would have, but it certainly wouldn't compare to what's on PC/a last generation console.
