sn0wbreeze 2.0 available tomorrow, here's everything you need to know

The day after September 23 iH8sn0w will release version 2.0 of sn0wbreeze which will allow us to jailbreak iOS 3.1.x, 4.0.x and 4.1 using a custom ipsw. This new version of sn0wbreeze comes bundled with a new version of iReb that will help iPhone owners to use a custom ipsw even if they don't have a jailbreak. As I have you said 2 days ago, this new version of sn0wbreeze will also jailbreak terminals with new bootrom, and then iH8sn0w said that the jailbreak will be tethered, but the one who tested the application says that it is untethered. Until iH8sn0w says something official, we remain on the presumption that it will be tethered.

Here are the terminals they are compatible with

  • iPhone 2G — works on iOS 3.1.x;
  • iPhone 3G — works without problems;
  • iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) — you must have jailbroken iOS 4.0.x. If you have jailbroken with jailbreakme.com then install Spirit2pwn from Cydia (more details tomorrow);
  • iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) — you must first restore to iOS 3.1.2;
  • iPhone 4 – not compatible;
  • iPod Touch 1G — works on iOS 3.1.x;
  • iPod Touch 2G (MB) — works without problems;
  • iPod Touch 2G (MC) — you must first restore to iOS 3.1.2;
  • iPod Touch 3G — you must first restore to iOS 3.1.2;
  • iPod Touch 4 — not compatible;
  • iPad — not compatible.
iREB 4.0 will be available tomorrow together with sn0wbreeze, it will be compatible with iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 2G and will allow the owners of these 2 terminals to restore using a custom ipsw even if their phone is not jailbroken. iREB will be compatible exclusively with these 2 devices, so do not try to use it with others because it will not work.
Tomorrow we will have sn0wbreeze 2.0 and many of you will be able to restore to iOS 4.1 jailbroken. My advice is to wait until a tutorial from me appears, otherwise you risk being left with a blocked phone.
