Apple could organize a secret conference for certain application developers

According to rumors yesterday, Apple might organizes next week a private conference for certain application developers for the iOS platform. Apparently, the company is worried about the growth of the Android platform and the attention it receives from app developers, so it decided to invite some developers to talk with Apple engineers about ways in which developers can improve their methods of making apps . The conference will last 3 days, but it is not yet known which developers will be invited to talk with Apple engineers, but I think it will be about developers with applications that sell very well.

We are short on details, and we have not seen any public information about it, but it sounds like this will be a more intimate version of the iPhone Tech Talks that Apple hosted around the world last year.

This year, app publishers may get some extra face time with Apple engineers, and perhaps some hands-on development help. The big idea, it seems, is an effort to improve the quality of iOS apps available in Apple's App Store. This comes as Google's rival Android platform continues to look better to developers, and receives more of their attention and investment.

The organization of this conference is somewhat normal considering that next month Apple will release iOS 4.2 and iPad tablet owners will have the opportunity to use the new features of iOS 4.x for the first time. Apple probably wants to increase the number of useful applications in the AppStore, but in at the same time, the revenues collected by developers/Apple will also increase.
