Windows Phone 7 a failure in the US?

A few days ago, Windows Phone 7 was officially launched on the American continent, and the company Microsoft probably expected to record the highest sales here, but unfortunately the situation was more than unsatisfactory for the company from Redmond. Although Windows Phone 7 and the 4 compatible terminals (launched in the USA) had intense promotion and were available at several operators, conform to some analysts, on the day of the launch, only 40.000 pieces of terminals running Windows Phone 7 were sold. Looking at the figures in this article where I specified that O2 Germany sold almost 80.000 on the day of launch, I would say that the estimates of American analysts are somewhat inaccurate.

I would make comparisons with the sales recorded by iPhone 2G or the first terminal equipped with Android, but there is no point because I personally consider these estimates to be totally unrealistic for a country like the USA. I would say that Microsoft sold at least a few hundred thousand terminals on the day of launch, or at least that's what I'd like to think.

  1. OK, no problem, we buy two htc hd 7 costs 450 lire and iphone 4g costs 499 lire from apple store but I ask if iphone 4g unlock? I have iphone 3g can't be unlocked because of baseband 15.04.02

  2. I see no reason why the US figures would be inaccurate. I don't see why we would deduce the sales figures from one country by extrapolating the figures from another country. Apart from the differences between two totally distinct relevant markets, there are also differences in mentality, i.e. the American has a thinking dominated by practicality (how to solve a problem as simply as possible), and the German one dominated by economics (how to solve it the cheapest).

And when the German saw how cheap the WP7 phones were, he said to himself, "Wow, a smartphone for less than 50 euros? The opportunity should not be missed!" and ran into the shop of the Spanish (O2) and the English (VF). American is not like that.

  3. pfiu!... how well some people know how Americans and Germans think... what outdated analyses, brother!...
If we continue like this... halal...

  4. @Glm: Your comment on other people's comment makes no sense! Rather than writing messages only to see yourself posted with them, it's better to turn your nose to the PCs you have to fix (for a fee - what a waste!).

  5. Tiger, the way you analyze the Americans and the Germans, that's how we analyze you, you are a kind of Robert Turcescu of Romania, a great deontologist, who knows everything, life on earth began and will end with your consent..
And to be ontopic, Zaone is right, in a week for almost half a billion inhabitants, be convinced that more phones than these were sold, but no, sir, it all depends on the ideology of thinking, the master regalis explained to us above , on them tigers.

  6. I don't know who wants to see their posts more, you are definitely a leading post, too bad you write nonsense. what do you think is unusual that I fix PCs for a fee? can't you see that you have no logic?
what analyzes are you doing, maybe the councilor will ask you to tell him what the Romanians think and the dust will settle...

  7. @Chc: The fact that you start your comments with personal attacks is illustrative of the primitiveness of your thinking. If someone expresses a point of view on a subject, it does not mean that they consider themselves omniscient. You will realize this when you learn from the culture of dialogue.

And the fact that MS expected higher sales I do not doubt, it did the same in the previous attempt to compete with the iPhone, when it sold the Kin Phone ... how much? 500 copies? ROOF! And he ducked out of the fray and tackled WP7, with which he's had more success, but not nearly as much as his competitors with other smartphone operating systems.

  8. @Glm: Mătăluță you earn your living because of an industry that was content for years to put out mediocre products and where frequent defects and problems were accepted as a given. I understand your irritation when you see that the world is moving towards new types of devices for which the activity you carry out is no longer necessary, you will be like the famous carriage manufacturer Studebaker in the era of the automobile, practicing an increasingly obsolete specialty.

And don't worry about Mr. Boc, he's doing well and as it is, let him destroy everything that moves through the Romanian economy! 🙂

  9. I don't know who wants to see their posts more, you are definitely a leading post, too bad you write nonsense. I repeat, only, only you will understand... but I see that you are still deviating, I don't even bother to answer you. OK bye!…

  10. @Glm: At least I post "on topic", not like others who have nothing better to do than troll the comment sections and take on those who express a point of view on the subject in discussion.

I remain of the opinion that this first version of Windows Phone 7 is still incomplete and unfinished and can only convince through a low price of the terminals on which it comes installed. Which doesn't mean things will stay that way.

The famous "photocopiers from Redmond" still have enough sources of inspiration in the world of smartphones, which they can "incorporate" into future versions of WP7.

  11. sure, your all-knowing opinions and your unassailable edicts are perfectly on topic with the arrogance and aggressiveness in presenting your comments and, God forbid that someone contradicts you or calls you green in the face that you are beating the plains, because then you pour scripturally and fill up two websites, just so the world can see how "erudite" you are and how high your esoteric opinions are...

  12. @Glm: I will not stoop to the level of invective you promote and get drawn into an unproductive argument with trolls like you who post off-topic and aggressively just because they have no one to talk to argue elsewhere. I'll stop here and I'm not going to continue the useless dialogues with the trolls.
