Sony PSP Phone released on December 9th

About Sony PSP Phone we talked a few weeks ago and the new gadget from SonyEricsson would be submitted during a conference that will take place on December 9 in France. Sony lost quite a lot thanks to the iPod Touch terminals with which Apple conquered a large part of the gamers who used to use gadgets from Sony or Nintendo. iDevices are not (all) by definition gaming devices, but the developers of applications for the AppStore have taken advantage of the existing hardware in the terminals to develop games as interesting and complete as possible, both from a graphical point of view and from the point of view of the gameplay.

With the Sony PSP Phone, the company will try to attract back some of the lost customers, but my opinion is that Sony will not succeed much, especially if their terminal will not come with something truly innovative. So far we know that the Sony PSP Phone will show you so and will have the following specifications:

  • 1GHz-rated Qualcomm MSM8655;
  • 512 MB of RAM;
  • Android 2.3.

Personally, I think that iDevices will only be able to be dethroned by a device that is very well equipped in terms of hardware and with a powerful operating system that has a lot of applications behind it, and Sony does not have something like that for now.
