I told you a few months ago that Samsung ready a competitor for the iPod Touch in the position of the new Samsung Galaxy Player, which will basically be for the Samsung Galaxy S what the iPod Touch is for the iPhone. samsung galaxy player it is a Samsung Galaxy S without the phone function, with a weaker screen, with a smaller camera but with the same processor/RAM and with a storage capacity of 8/16/32GB. To be honest, these specifications don't hold me back and they certainly wouldn't convince me to buy it in favor of an iPod Touch that also has a store with hundreds of thousands of applications and games. My opinion is that the Samsung Galaxy Player will not be nearly as successful as the Samsung Galaxy S, but hey that's just me.
It is interesting, however, that Samsung chose to develop such a device and if it will be at least moderately successful, then it is possible that we will see such devices launched by other developers as well. The iPod Touches were and still are very successful and for Apple until now there was no competition in this field.
