FileXChange is a new application that will be available in the AppStore, yes AppStore, starting on April 25 and will allow us to transfer files between iDevices, between iDevices and Android terminals or even a computer. The application, once installed in your terminal, becomes a kind of web server to which any other device can connect directly from a browser and in which it can access everything you have displayed. Moreover, we can upload pictures to the terminal that has the application using the upload function implemented by the developer.

The application works both via Wi-Fi and via Bluetooth, but in the case of Wi-Fi networks, it is necessary that both devices be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Copying files in our terminal and implicitly in the application is done using the File Sharing function in iTunes, also through it having the possibility to copy files from the terminal. The application must be installed only on your device to send/accept files, the rest of the people connecting through the browser to the IP of your terminal.

Here are the functions of the application:

Among the main features of FileXChange. We therefore:

  • Very easy to use: intuitive graphics and video tutorial
  • File transfer is via Wi-Fi or via Bluetooth
  • Transfer files to and from major operating systems, including Android
  • Functioning email, zip and unzip
  • Data protection via password
  • High-speed transfer

FileXChange supports major file formats, including:

  • Text files (. Doc, . Docx, . Txt)
  • Excel files (. Xls, . Xlsx)
  • PDF (.pdf)
  • Numbers (.Numbers)
  • Pages (. Pages)
  • PowerPoint (.ppt)
  • Main image formats (.Png,.Jpg,.Gif and others)
  • Major audio formats (. Mp3, . Wav, . Aif and more)
  • Major video formats (. Mp4,. M3v. Mov and others)

I think that FileXChange is the first or the most advanced application that allows the transfer of files between iDevices and other terminals. The application will be available on Monday in the AppStore and I hope it will be as good as the Italian developer presents it.
