Final Cut Pro X does not work on older Mac Pros

Apple today officially released a new version of the Final Cut Pro X through the Mac App Store and of course many people rushed to buy the new software from Apple. Unfortunately, some had the displeasure of finding that their own Mac Pro It is not compatible with the new version of Final Cut Pro X. Specifically, Mac Pros from 2008 that have ATI Nvidia 2600 graphics cards cannot run Final Cut Pro X and the Mac App Store refuses to download the application and this is a good thing because users will not have to pay for the application to find out later that it is not compatible with your Mac.

BAD NEWS: I have a 2 year old, Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 6 Gigs of memory and I can't download FCP X from the app store because my Mac Pro isn't good enough!

I have an ATI Radeon HD 2600. What about all those iMac editing stations when they can't upgrade either? Nice timing, right before the new Mac Pros to be released.

I spoke to Apple, my Mac Pro from Early 2009 needs NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro (early 2009) for $149 1-2 week wait.

Those who have a Mac Pro from 2009 can run Final Cut Pro X only if they buy an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 Graphics card from Apple for only $150. For now, those who do not have the ability to run Final Cut Pro X must wait for the new Mac Pro generation or buy a video card supported by the application.
