Andy Rubin, the father of Android, announced on Twitter that currently more than 500.000 Android terminals are activated daily. Apple announced a few weeks ago that every day more than 300.000 iDevices are activated worldwide, and this of course includes all devices running iOS. The difference between the daily activations made by the 2 companies is very large and Andy Rubin claims that the daily number of activations for Android terminals increases by approximately 4.4%, so soon the number of available Android terminals will be higher than that of iOS terminals.
Although many have said that the pace of growth of the Android platform has stopped in recent months, Andy Rubin is coming to combat these rumors. The Android platform has a much higher growth than the iOS platform because there are many more devices available and the prices of the terminals are considerably lower. Probably by next year, the daily number of activated Android terminals will reach somewhere around 700.000, while Apple will announce figures close to 500.000.
