iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are the best-selling smartphones in the US

To be honest, I'm a little surprised to learn that the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 terminals were declared the best-selling smartphones in the US considering that there are so many competitive Android terminals on the American continent. The information comes from the analysis company NPD who studied the sales in the USA and concluded that these 2 terminals had the highest sales in the last period. iPhone 3GS is available on the market for over 2 years and occupies the second place in the top and the iPhone 4 has been available for almost 14 months and ranks first.

On the 3rd and 4th places are two terminals from the manufacturer HTC and on the last place is a terminal from Samsung. I expected Samsung to occupy a much better position, but it seems that Americans prefer iPhones and HTC terminals to the disadvantage of other manufacturers. It is interesting that an Apple device more than 2 years old is still so sought after, but it is somewhat normal considering that AT&T sells it for $49 with a contract and in terms of functions, iOS 4 and 5 are running well on it and it offers about the same things as the iPhone 4.

Leaving the USA aside, in Europe I don't think iPhones are ranked that well because here the other big manufacturers have a much more solid base. Samsung, Nokia, HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson are brands that Europeans know and whose products they have been using for years, so it would be interesting to find out where the iPhone terminals rank in the top of the smartphones I bought in Europe.
