MyWi Beta compatible with iOS 5 available in Cydia

MyWi is one of the most useful applications available in Cydia because it allows us to do internet tethering and turn any iDevice into a Wi-Fi HotSpot even if the mobile operator does not allow this. MyWi has been available for more than a year in Cydia and its developers thought it would be time to update it to make it compatible with the new iOS 5 which will be available in GM version probably next week. MyWi beta brings the following news:

  • NEW: iOS 5 support ( sep support deprecated for iOS 5 ) and also added support for 4.2.9 and 4.2.10
  • NEW: new architecture for improved performance
  • NEW: no more reboots on installation
  • FIXED: Update for connection count (didn't count devices behind firewalls)
  • FIXED: In certain use cases, devices may not receive an IP address due to conflicting port usage by iOS

From my point of view, MyWi is the only way to do internet tethering if you use Vodafone because Orange and Cosmote offer this option for free. More about functions MyWi found here and you can download the beta version from here.
