Ac1dSn0w – a jailbreak solution developed \"borrowing\" the work of others

Yesterday I spoke to you for the first time about Ac1dSn0w, a tethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5.0/5.0.1 made using the source code of other jailbreak solutions now available on the Internet. Basically, the team behind the program "borrowed" part of the Chronic Dev Team's greenpois0n code and implemented it in their own program, but that's not all because Ac1dSn0w also contains Apple's proprietary code. Using this kind of code in a jailbreak program is not legal and would allow Apple to sue the people who developed Ac1dSn0w.

Dev Team, Chronic Dev Team and iH8sn0w do not use such code in their own programs precisely to avoid a possible meeting with Apple's lawyers, but those from Pwn Dev Team are not too interested in this aspect. It is not advisable to encourage this kind of practices because Apple would have an extra reason to fight against those who make jailbreak solutions and anyway Ac1dSn0w does not come up with anything new compared to other jailbreak solutions. In conclusion, keep using redsn0w or sn0wbreeze because the results will be the same.
