Mac OS X 10.7.3 confirms Apple's intentions to launch Macs with Retina Display

We talked in the last months about possible release of some Macs equipped with retina screens and the latest beta version of Mac OS X 10.7.3 comes to confirm that this could become a reality. In the beta versions of Mac OS X Lion, Apple implemented the so-called HiDPI modes, options that should open applications at double the native resolution. Basically, we are talking about opening applications on Macs at a resolution for retina screens, double the native one, and this confirms the fact that Macs with Retina Display will someday be available.

Of course, for now we know for sure that Apple is testing Macs with high resolution screens, but unfortunately it is not known when they could reach the market. It is rumored that in 2012 a MacBook Pro could come equipped with a Retina Display, but you have to take this information with a grain of salt considering that Apple tests many products but too few end up being launched on the market. Until another time, it is confirmed again that Apple is testing retina screens in Macs and I know that many of you are waiting to see products of this kind in stores.
