Here's how a 7.85-inch iPad tablet looks compared to a 9.7-inch one

In recent weeks, there have been more and more rumors trying to induce users to believe that Apple is preparing the launch of an iPad tablet with a 7.85-inch screen. Although Steve Jobs was firmly against the launch of such a product, "sources" inside Apple's partner factories claim that the company is currently testing and is ready to launch a tablet with a 7.85-inch screen. Rumors will exist all the time and Apple rarely releases products 100% compliant with them, but MacRumors made some images showing us what an iPad tablet with a 7.85-inch screen looks like.

We're not making a 7-inch tablet because we don't want to hit a lower price point. We just believe it's too small to hit the user experience people want. When we make decisions, it's not about cost, it's about value when you factor in the software. We're all about the best products at aggressive prices.

You can download the images in full format available here and with their help you will be able to understand how different a tablet with such a screen would be. There is not a big difference in the interface because the icons and UI elements look mostly the same, maybe even better considering that the space on which they are displayed is smaller. For now, I don't see the point of an iPad tablet with a 7.85 inch screen since the current model has such good sales, but Apple has shown us many times that there are things we need even if we didn't know this and could repeat history next year.
