Almost two weeks ago I told you that Apple started a promotion through which he wanted to announce to the whole world that almost 25 billion applications were downloaded from his application store. To make things more interesting, Apple is offering a lucky person an iTunes Gift Card worth $10.000 if they manage to make the 25 billionth download. Unfortunately, the prize offered by Apple can only be used to buy applications from the App Store, so you cannot purchase products or accessories from the Apple store.
Interestingly, these 25 billion downloads do not include the updates made to the applications, so the actual number of downloads would be much higher. If you want to be aware of how the App Store statistics change, then in the promotion page you can follow a counter that will tell you how many applications have been downloaded so far. I estimate that on Friday night or Saturday morning the application with the number 25 billion will be downloaded.
