Apple engineers are not fans of American Pie, they reject the official application of the film

American Reunion is the latest film in the American Pie series, one of the most famous ever produced by Hollywood. To promote the film, the Universal studios thought of making an application in which to include some of Stiffler's most famous quotes, which personally brings "salt and pepper" to the entire film. Those from Apple did not welcome the application of Universal studios and they rejected it justifying his decision based on the fact that the application contains too many obscene words and cannot be published in the App Store.

That Apple would pass on an app featuring language like this isn't surprising: there's tons of precedent for it. What is more surprising, however, is that similar uncensored soundboards released by indie developers have been allowed onto the App Store without raising a single eyebrow, including this soundboard featuring quotes from Eugene Levy's character, which includes references to "masturbation" and other NSFW content . Furthermore, the American Pie movies are also available on iTunes with an R rating. Too raunchy for kids to potentially buy on the App Store… but not from the iTunes Movie Store?

The problem with Universal's application is that Apple has other similar applications and sounds available in iTunes, but marked accordingly, so the decision to deny access to this application is at least strange. Universal has already sent to Apple a modified version that has a bit more friendly content for all users, but unfortunately all the "charm" of Stiffler has disappeared, but at least Universal has the chance to promote its new film in the largest application store for mobile terminals .
