Is it worth updating to iOS 5.1.1 to do untethered jailbreak or should I stay with iOS 5.1?

Recently, they received a lot of questions related to the update to iOS 5.1.1 and the untethered jailbreak solution that Pod2G is about to launch. You already know that initially this untethered jailbreak solution was supposed to be released for iOS 5.1.1, but in the end Pod2G told us that a number of devices can be jailbroken on iOS 5.1.1, the latest version of iOS. Basically, Pod2G didn't say if those devices can be jailbroken on iOS 5.1, and many people wonder if it's better to stay on iOS 5.1 or switch to iOS 5.1.1, for which we know that Pod2G will make the jailbreak solution.

Well, the answer is simple: iOS 5.1.1 is more recent, it can be jailbroken, why not update? This version of iOS does not damage the functionality of the devices, it even solves certain problems, so there is no reason not to update. The problem is that if you don't update now and Pod2G won't release a jailbreak solution compatible with iOS 5.1.1, then you'll have to update then and you're unnecessarily postponing something you could have done earlier. There is a chance that Pod2G's solution can jailbreak iOS 5.1 untethered iDevices released before iPad 2, but in the case of iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPhone 4S, the solution could only be compatible with iOS 5.1.1.

If I now had iOS 5.1 and I knew that my terminal can be jailbroken on iOS 5.1.1, according to Pod2G, then I wouldn't wait for anyone or anything and I would update.

UPDATE: Although in the article I talked exclusively about iOS 5.1/5.1.1, some with lower versions of iOS understood that everything I explained here applies to them. No, it doesn't apply, I don't recommend those with untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 to give it up and wait for 5.1.1 without jailbreak.
