Quasar is one of the most interesting tweaks released this year in Cydia because with its help we can view several applications on the same screen of the iPad tablet. In the video clip above you have demonstrated the functionality of the tweak, it has remained mostly unchanged, but the developer has solved some functionality problems and of course implemented some new things but of lesser importance. Since the official release in Cydia until now, Quasar has been updated and contains the following changes:

  • Fixed crashes when going to full-screen mode
  • Implemented multi-touch pinch gesture to exit full-screen mode>
  • Implemented option to come back to SpringBoard when touching windows screen background
  • Implemented iPad 3 Retina Display support
  • Fixed bug when apps go to full-screen filling the wrong screen area (stretching)
  • Implemented external bluetooth keyboard support
  • Implemented an option (in Settings) to block windows to be dragged/resized out of screen bounds
  • Fixed laggy scroll/touch in windows (and in full-screen mode) when the iPad is in Landscape Left orientation
  • Fixed Cydia orientation (upside down) when in Landscape
  • Fixed "Open in Safari/App Store" bug when Quasar is disabled in Settings
  • Fixed black-screen on Mail when opening it a second time
  • The window of a crashed application is now being removed
  • Fixed bugs with iPhone applications "zoomed"
  • Implemented RetinaPad support
  • Fixed bug when opening a window in Landscape Left orientation and the window content is upside down.
  • Fixed bug when rotating an app to landscape, then close, then reopen and the app orientation is different to the window.
  • Fixed delay after clicking the full-screen button and actually going to full-screen

Quasar is the only tweak that allows iPad tablet owners to run several applications on the same screen and since yesterday it is 100% compatible with the Retina Display of the iPad 3 tablet. If you want to have the same functionality in iPad that you have in Windows or OS X, but only in terms of the possibility of using applications in windows, then Quasar is the right tweak. In Cydia you have Quasar available for $10.
