Apple withdraws the Clueful application developed by Bitdefender Romania from the App Store

A few weeks ago we told you that Bitdefender Romania, the famous producer of antivirus solutions, launched in the App Store an application called Clueful which monitors the way applications use our iDevices. Based on the information obtained by Bitdefender from that application, worrying reports were published, like this one, in which we are told that many applications access our data without right. Unfortunately, starting yesterday, you no longer have the possibility to check this information because Apple has decided to withdraw the application from the App Store, but for now we don't know why.

The information obtained by Bitdefender by analyzing 65.000 applications from the App Store demonstrated that 42.5% of applications do not encrypt user data when transmitting information on the Internet, 41.4% monitor our locations constantly and 20% access, without right, our email address contacts. Although it is not yet known why Apple chose to withdraw the application, the people from Bitdefender stated that they will resubmit it to the App Store after making some changes, so the withdrawal decision could be related to the way the application works and with the data it monitors/accesses.
