Pod2G and MuscleNerd explain how jailbreak exploits are used

In the the discussion that took place today between Pod2G, planetbeing, modwd and MuscleNerd at HITB 2012, the hackers explained how they select the exploits that are used in jailbreak solutions for iOS. Hackers say that most of the time, jailbreak solutions are developed using old exploits, ineffectively closed by Apple, and that's how we got such fast jailbreak solutions. In the case of iOS 5.1.1, vulnerabilities were used that Apple did not properly close after the jailbreak solution for iOS 5.0.1 was released, and this technique has been used successfully over the years.

For iOS 6 hackers already have exploits ready, working on the development of the jailbreak solution, but they do not say exactly what they will exploit. They have exploits that they test during the beta testing period of an imported version of iOS, and if those exploits are valid in the final version, they sometimes choose to turn them into a jailbreak solution. Although hackers say that in the future jailbreak solutions will be more difficult to develop, they are confident that Apple has no reason to permanently block the possibility of exploiting iOS.
