keycard is a new application for Macs, its purpose is to help you protect your device when you leave it. The application works with an iPhone, it connects via Bluetooth to your Mac and has the role of automatically locking the Mac when you leave it. Everything also works in the opposite direction, the application on the iPhone automatically unlocking the Mac the moment you approach it, the Bluetooth connection being the one that activates the functionality.
Keycard is undoubtedly the easiest way to keep your Mac secure when you're not around. Using Bluetooth®, Keycard locks your Mac using your iOS device when it detects you are leaving your computer. When you come back, it unlocks it for you. Leaving your desk for 10 minutes? Grabbing a coffee in the library? Take your iPhone or other iOS device with you and it can serve as your own personal "Keycard."
The application for iOS can of course be used with any of Apple's iDevices, the functionality being identical for all devices. The application is now available in the Mac App Store at the price of €5.99.
