Revelation displays the passwords hidden and saved by iOS

Revelation is a tweak released during this day in Cydia, and with its help we can view the passwords saved for a variety of applications in our iDevices. The tweak is able to display only the passwords that have already been used in iDevices, that is, those that the system automatically enters in the login fields, but you will not be able to use the tweak to display the passwords saved in the Settings application for Twitter /Facebook/iCloud and other applications that use advanced encryption systems.

Revelation unmasks hidden passwords in standard native and HTML password fields. It can reveal lost or forgotten passwords, and can also show passwords as you type them. Revelation can only recover passwords when the field contains the real password behind the scenes. Luckily, this is how most password fields are developed. No new icons have been added to your home screen – you can find Revelation on the main page of the Settings app.

Some examples that are known to work:

  • Safari saved passwords
  • Chrome saved passwords
  • Mail accounts
  • VPN accounts
  • iSSH accounts

Examples that are known to NOT work:

  • iCloud accounts
  • iOS Twitter accounts
  • iOS Facebook accounts

Revelation it was only intended to help users remember the passwords of some accounts, it cannot crack the passwords of others and cannot guess a password that has never been used in iOS. Revelation is available for $1.99 in Cydia's BigBoss repo.
