A hotel in the USA controls its thermostats in each room using a simple iPhone application

Many of you have probably already imagined that in the US technology is adopted at a much faster rate than anywhere else in the world, and you are probably not surprised to hear that a hotel controls all the thermostats in its rooms using a simple iPhone application. This he found out an editor of cNET who was a guest of a hotel that had the temperature of the thermostats locked between certain values, the guests not being able to increase or decrease the temperature of the rooms below those values. Trying to convince the hotel employees to allow him to cool his room as much as he wanted, he found out that the hotel manager could control the thermostat of each room with a simple iPhone application, and thus allowed the editor to cool his room as much as he wanted.

It is not specified exactly which hotel it was, but it doesn't really matter, considering that from an iPhone you can control the equipment that affects tens of hundreds or maybe even thousands of people.
