Lightspeed is an application launched last night in App Store, and with its help we can control a varied range of aspects that control the way we record time lapses using our iDevices. The application for iDevices allows us to adjust the angle in which the images are recorded, but also the time period for which the recording is made, so we can set time periods of up to 30 seconds, or time periods that represent the twelfth part in a second.

A 180° shutter is the typical setting used for motion pictures, and will give a natural cinematic look to your time lapse movies. Dial the shutter down to 1° degree to minimize motion blur for a staccato feel, or ramp it all the way up to 360° degrees to maximize motion blur and give your videos a smooth, fluid look and feel.
